The booking apps already won — so we refused to be one
Solo beauty pros already live in Square and Booksy. ConsentBloom sits beside them, not instead of them.
The booking apps already won. Solo US lash, brow, and wax artists already live in Square, Booksy, and the rest. That calendar is not up for grabs.
I keep meeting the same setup. The artist already runs the day in those tools. Consent is the leftover work: send the form, chase the signature, find the copy later.
They own the calendar
Clients book there. The artist already knows how to check the day. A new booking app would have to win that habit back. We would lose on distribution before we even talked about consent.
Competing with Square and Booksy — or pretending to be "booking plus forms" — is a trap. You spend the work on the calendar, and you still do not solve the chase.
The pain is the chase
The pain is not "I need a form builder." It is send → chase → find. Send the form. Remind the client. Find the signed copy later, when you actually need it.
A form builder does not do that job. Neither does another appointment screen.
Sit beside them
ConsentBloom's bet is to sit beside those tools, not instead of them. Fixed consent templates. An invite, then reminders. A way to find the signed copy later. Not a replacement for the booking flow.
We are deliberately not wiring into their APIs as a prerequisite for version one. Appointments go in by hand, on purpose, for now. That keeps the first version honest about what it is.
Stay out of the category
Staying out of the booking category keeps the product honest. We do not need their calendar to start. We need the part of the job they do not do.
The blog will have more of this. There's RSS if you want it in a reader.
