Email-first, because SMS is a compliance product
ConsentBloom starts with email invites and reminders. SMS is a different product — templates, carriers, and approval — so it waits.
ConsentBloom starts email-first on purpose. Invites and reminders go out as email. SMS is not “version one with a different channel.” It is a compliance product of its own, and it waits.
I build from Zlín. The company is registered in Prague. The product decision is the same either way: ship the chase on email first, then add text when the paperwork and the templates are ready.
The chase still needs a channel
The job is still send → chase → find. Send the consent. Remind when the signature is missing. Find the signed copy later.
That loop needs a reliable way to reach the client. Email is already how most solo artists send forms and receipts. Clients already check it. We do not need a second channel to prove the product works.
Why SMS is not just “add Twilio”
Text messages look simple from the product side. One short reminder. A link. Done.
Underneath, SMS is a different stack. Carriers care about what you send. Template wording gets reviewed. Opt-in and quiet hours matter. A short message has a hard character budget, so the copy has to earn every character. Failure modes look nothing like a bounced email.
Treating that as a checkbox on the email path is how you ship half a compliance product by accident.
Email first keeps version one honest
Email-first means ConsentBloom can ship the send-chase-find loop without pretending text is already solved. Fixed consent templates. An invite. Reminders. A way to find the signed copy later. Appointments can still go in by hand. The product sits beside the booking tools artists already use.
When SMS lands later, it should arrive as a real channel — approved templates, clear limits, and the same chase job — not as a marketing checkbox on day one.
What we are not claiming
This post is not a launch announcement. It is not a claim that text is live, that every state rule is covered, or that we are a law firm. It is the channel decision: email now, SMS when the compliance work is actually done.
The short answer
If someone asks why ConsentBloom is email-first, the short answer is that SMS is a compliance product. We start where the chase already works, then earn the text channel properly.
The blog will have more of this. There's RSS if you want it in a reader.
